Jumma worker dies in police firing in CPEZ


ONE of those killed in police firing in Chittagong Export Processing
Zone today is reportedly a Jumma worker.

His identity is yet to be known. He was seen lying on a pavement near
BEPJA gate, a Jumma worker told chtnews.com on condition of anonymity.

No further details about him are available as people were not getting
out of their homes for fear of arrest.

He said another Jumma was injured in the brutal police attack on
demonstrating workers, who were demanding an increase in their wages.

He has been identified as Ujwal Chakma, from Dighinala. He works at a
factory owned by Young One, a South Korean company.

He was admitted to Chittagong Medical College hospital with bullet injuries.

The doctors took out the bullet in his shoulder and released him.

According to sheershanews.com, at least three persons have been killed
in the police action.
