Indigenous girl killed after rape - reports daily star

A 13-year-old indigenous girl was killed reportedly after being violated by a stalker at Zianagar in Dighinala upazila of Khagrachhari on Thursday night.
Police recovered the body of the victim, a student of Kamokkachhara Govt Primary School in the area, from the woods, some 250 yards of her house around 9:00am yesterday.
The victim's mother held Hashem Ali of the area responsible for the killing as he used to stalk and harass her daughter often.
“In the preliminary investigation, police found marks of injuries on her body which indicate the victim was killed after rape,” said Abdul Kader, officer-in-charge of Dighinala Police Station.
According to the victim's family and police, the girl went missing since she went out of home Thursday afternoon.
Next morning, neighbours discovered her body in the woods and informed police and the victim's family.
The body was sent to Khagrachhari Adhunik Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy, said the OC adding that a case will be filed.
Meanwhile, Hill Women's Federation Khagrachhari unit president Madri Chakma in a press release yesterday afternoon condemned the incident and demanded immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of the culprit.

খাগড়াছড়ি: খাগড়াছড়ি জেলার দীঘিনালা থেকে শুক্রবার স্বর্ণিতা চাকমা (১১) নামে এক আদিবাসী শিশুর লাশ উদ্ধার করেছে পুলিশ।
সকাল সাড়ে ৯টার দিকে কবাখালী ইউনিয়নের জিয়ানগর এলাকা থেকে তারা লাশ উদ্ধার করা হয়।স্বর্ণিতা একই উপজেলার বুদ্ধপাড়া গ্রামের মৃত লালমোহন চাকমার মেয়ে।
পরিবার ও স্থানীয় সূত্রে জানা যায়, স্বর্ণিতা লেখাপড়ার সুবিধার জন্য কবাখালী এলাকার তুলাপাড়ার নানাবাড়িতে থাকতো।
তার পরিবারের পক্ষ থেকে অভিযোগ করা হয়েছে, পাশের হাশেম নামে এক যুবক প্রায়ই স্বর্ণিতাকে উত্যক্ত করতো।
উপজেলা নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা মো. মনিরুজ্জামান মিয়া সরেজমিন ঘটনাস্থল পরিদর্শন করে বাংলানিউজকে জানান, ‘লাশের গায়ে ক্ষতের চিহ্ন রয়েছে। এ ঘটনায় এলাকায় পাহাড়ি-বাঙালি সম্প্রীতি নষ্টের আশঙ্কায় বাড়তি নিরাপত্তা নেওয়া হয়েছে।’ এ বিষয়ে যথাযথ আইনানুগ ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হবে বলে জানান তিনি।
এ বিষয়ে পুলিশ তাৎক্ষণিক কোনো মন্তব্য করতে রাজি হয়নি।
ময়না তদন্তের জন্য লাশ খাগড়াছড়ি শহরের আধুনিক হাসপাতাল মর্গে পাঠানো হয়েছে।
