A Documentary based on interviews of the victims of attack in Mahalchari, Chittagong Hill Tracts, Bangladesh on 26 August, 2003.
On 26 August 2003, a tragic incident occurred at a place called Mahalchari under Khagrachari district of the Chittagong Hill Tracts, Bangladesh. A group of plain-land setters and the army from Mahalchari Zone carried out an attack on indigenous Jumma villages, killing 2 persons including a 8-month old baby and wounding scores of others. Besides setting fire to more than 350 houses.
The attackers also committed widespread looting and raped women. Places of worship have not been spared either. The perpetrators burned down four Buddhist temples, harassed monks and looted statues of lord Buddha.
A team of Hill Watch Human Rights Forum (HWHRF) took these interviews when it visited the area on September 4 and 8 2003.
